Watercolor Beach Paintings

Today we learned about holding the paint brush correctly and we talked about the different types of paint:  oil, watercolor and acrylics.  We used watercolor paints today for our fabulous beach pictures and we learned how to blend lines by simply using water.  We taught about depth by using different shades of colors - darker shades of color makes it look like something is in the distance.  Each of these cute kiddies added something on their beach to make it interesting.  We used a white tempera paint for the waves and foam in the water.  Notice each one of the skies in the paintings - they are all so amazingly different and the clouds look so real.  Some of the children used salt in the sky to make interesting designs.  I love each one of these unique pictures.  It's gr-8 to cre-8!
